Roasting-furnaces. - In a superposed-hearth roasting furnace having circular hearths over which move rabbles carried by a central rotating shaft, the hearths a are inclined in a direction opposed to the radial direction of flow of the material under treatment. The hearths may be alternately inclined in opposite directions as shown, or may be alternately inclined and horizontal.
