Abstract

Fittings, internal; cellular boxes; boxes jormed of separate bodies combined in tiers.-A box or section 1 for packing eggs is provided with two nets 3, 6 of hemp or twine which are suspended from the walls and are adapted to engage the eggs 5 at the largest parts and the ends respectively. The level of the nets is arranged so that the eggs do not project outside the section, thus enabling a number of sections to be superposed without the use of distance-pieces. The nets may be secured to frames, which are bolted to the walls of the casing. As shown, the nets are supported by springs 12, which are connected to ears 13 on the section and to eyelets 10 on the nets. In a modification, the nets are supported by laces which are threaded through the eyelets 10 and holes in the section. The sections may be of wood, or may be of metal and be provided with stiffening-flanges 15. They may be each provided with a flexible or stiff cover 9, or a single cover mav be used for a number of sections.
