Partitioned and cellular boxes; fittings, internal; lined boxes; ventilating boxes.-A box or carrier for live chickens, &c. has a vertical dividing-board 7 sliding in between guide-strips 8, and other boards 10 supported on ledges on the board 7 and ends 2. Each of the four compartments thus formed contains one or more nest-frames 11 of plain or corrugated cardboard &c. ; these frames fit in tightly or are secured by clips, and they are without top or bottom and are made with air-holes, edge recesses, &c. for ventilation. Strips 15 of fannel &c., secured to the boards 10 and to a top plate 14, depend into the nest-frames and form a warm covering to the birds. A layer of hay &c. is placed in each nest-frame. The box has a hinged lid 4, which may be fastened by a wire passing through staples and secured by a psdiock. Air-holes are formed in the sides and ends of the box.
