Abstract

1,187,617. Reel for cable. BRITISH INSULATED CALLENDER'S CABLES Ltd. 26 Nov., 1968 [27 Nov., 1967], No. 53887/67. Heading B8M. A reel 1 for winding cable thereon comprises a barrel 2 and a pair of axially spaced flanges each comprising a bearing part 3 located on the outer face of a non-circular part 4. The reel 1 runs on the tracks 5 with the bearing parts 3 in contact with the tracks and the parts 4 maintained clear of the ground so that the cable on the reel 1 is not damaged during transport.
