Abstract
1,186,990. Tablet coatings. ERCOPHARM A.S. 29 Aug., 1968 [4 Sept., 1967], No. 41287/ 68. Heading A5B. Pharmaceutical tablets are coated with a mixture of a mono- or di-saccharide and a polyamide which is insoluble in the digestive tract to produce a sustained release medicament. Suitable polyamides are nylon 6, nylon 11, nylon 12, nylon 6.6, nylon 6.10, mixtures thereof and the condensation product of p, p'- diaminocyclohexylmethane and adipic acid. The coating may be performed by conventional procedures using a solution, suspension or emulsion of the coating materials in water, organic liquid or mixtures thereof, especially aqueous alcoholic mixtures. Specified medicaments which may be present are hydrocoritisone, nicotinic acid, aneurin, ephedrine, papaverine, theophylline, quinidine and antipyrin (Trade Mark).
