A pipe saddle 10 comprises in combination upper 18 and lower 16 body members of a resilient polymeric material, each having an inner semi-cylindrical surface 28, 26, a boss member 22 extending outwardly from said upper body member and having a threaded bore 24, both said body members having longitudinal edges 30 which slidably engage to form joints when said body members are positioned around a pipe (not shown); retaining bands (20, Fig. 2, not shown) extending around both said body members on opposite sides of said boss; sealing means 62 and an integral, positioning collar 52 coaxial with said bore and spaced radially inwardly from said sealing means with respect to said bore and extending axially inwardly beyond the semi-cylindrical inner surface of said upper body member; said collar extending inwardly from said inner curved surface of said upper body a uniform amount thereby defining an edge which substantially conforms in curvature to the inner surface of the pipe, the axial extent inwardly of the collar being such that it does not extend appreciably into the bore of a main pipe to which the saddle is fitted, the collar being rounded near its radially inner edge to form a smoothly convergent entrance from said main pipe to the boss bore to thereby present a minimum of hydraulic resistance; an annular recess 58 being formed in the semi-cylindrical surface of said upper body member around said collar to afford an additional degree of flexibility to the collar sufficient to accommodate irregularities in the shape of a hole drilled in a main pipe for said saddle, and to provide fluid pressure seal against the edge defining said hole. The top of the boss is provided with a metal collar 64.
