Abstract

1,185,523. Dental stands. COX MFG. CO. Ltd. 9 May, 1967 [14 May, 1966], No. 21432/ 67. Heading A5R. A dental operating unit comprises a frame supporting a waist high work surface 21, there being storage means 24 for dental handpieces beneath the work surface, a storage cabinet 34 for supply services mounted above the work surface, a control panel with means for controlling the supply services, and supply connections between the dental handpieces, the controlling means, and the supply services. As shown, the operating unit comprises sink and drawer sub-units 23, 25, 26 which, together with the louvred sub-unit 24, are surmounted by the working surface 21, the supply services cabinet 34, shelving 32, and the control panel 31. The operating unit is assembled on four T- shaped frame members (Figure 2, not shown) and encloses within its walls 15-17 (see also Figures 4, 5, not shown) a photographic dark room. The unit also includes an illuminated panel 30 for viewing X-ray plates, a movable arm rest 46, and an instrument table 47. Two operating units and reclining chairs 28 for patients may be arranged (Figures 4, 5, not shown) in a room convenient for use by a single dentist and an assistant who move (along the paths of arrows (48, 50)) from one unit to the other.
