Abstract
1,185,417. Inosine, and 5<SP>1</SP>-guanylic acid nucleotides. KYOWA HAKKO KOGYO CO. Ltd. 20 Sept., 1968 [21 Sept., 1967], No. 44833/68. Heading C2C. 5<SP>1</SP>-Guanylic acid nucleotides (e.g. the mono-, di-, and tri-phosphoric acids) and inosine are simultaneously produced by conducting a mixed cultivation of a first micro-organism belonging to the genus Brevibacterium or Corynebacterium capable of producing 5<SP>1</SP>-xanthylic acid, and a second micro-organism belonging to the genus Brevibacterium or Corynebacterium capable of producing inosine and also capable of converting 5<SP>1</SP>-xanthylic acid into 5<SP>1</SP>-guanylic nucleotides, under aerobic conditions in an aqueous nutrient medium, accumulating both inosine and the 5<SP>1</SP>-guanylic acid nucleotides in the resultant culture liquor and micro-organism cells, and recovering the products. Specified micro-organisms are Brevibacterium ammoniagenes and Corynebacterium glutamicum.
