Abstract

[Also in Division D1] A wall fabric of weight more than 20 ozs. per square yard comprises woven material of open mesh formed of at least 50% by weight of yarn made by twisting, folding or crushing paper strip and a carrier of flexible backing sheet e.g. of paper, textile fabric or polyvinyl chloride stuck to one face of the woven material. The woven material may be of plain weave; may contain warps more or less widely spaced and of different bulk than the wefts or may contain warps of cotton or sisal. Decorative effects may be introduced by the use of coloured backing sheets; by using an open-mesh material made from differently coloured yarns or by the introduction of metallic or other decorative threads into the open mesh material during weaving.
