Abstract

1,185,173. Cosmetic sticks. RICHARDSONMERRELL Ltd. 22 July, 1968 [24 April, 1967], No. 18710/67. Heading A5B. A pharmaceutical or toiletry application stick has an outer portion and a core portion made from different skin coating compositions wherein one portion is formed from a wax composition and the other portion comprises at least one active ingredient which is insoluble in the wax composition. The outer portion may contain a fragrant ingredient such as menthol or methyl salicylate and the stick may also contain an antiseptic such as hexachlorophene, an oil-soluble vitamin (e.g. vitamin A or D) or a healing agent such as allantoin. An antibacterial substance or a moisturiser such as propylene glycol may also be present.
