Abstract

1,184,999. Rotatable container spreaders. FRUEHAUF CORP. 30 April, 1968 [6 June, 1967], No. 20474/68. Heading B8H. A rotatable spreader frame for handling containers has upper and lower frames 19, 27, coupled together by bearing rings 23, 29 and ball bearings 31, and the lower frame supports container engaging spreaders of various sizes and with a variety of container engaging means. The frames 39 are readily attached to the frame 27 by lugs 43 and pins 41. A motor 35, pinion 37 and ring gear 33 on the inside of the bearing ring 29 rotate the frame 27 with respect to the frame 19. Guides may be provided on the spreader frame as disclosed in Specification 1,132,814.
