Abstract
1,182,859. Colouring polymers. FARBENFABRIKEN BAYER A.G. 30 May, 1968 [19 June, 1967], No. 26019/68. Headings C3P and C3R. [Also in Division C4] In Example 1, 8 parts by weight of the red pigment are triturated with a stoving enamel consisting of 25 parts coconut oil alkyl resin (40% coconut oil), 10 parts melamine resin, 5 parts toluene and 7 parts glycol monomethyl ether, applied to the substrate and hardened by stoving at 130‹ C. In Example 2, a mixture of 65 parts by weight PVC, 35 parts diisooctyl phthalate, 2 parts dibutyl tin mercaptide, 0.5 parts titanium dioxide and 0-5 parts of the pigment are admixed in mixing rolls at 165‹ C. In Example 3, 10 parts by weight titanium dioxide, 100 parts of an acrylonitrile-buta-dienestyrene copolymer and 1 part of a red pigment obtained by reacting the monoazodyestuff from 3-aminophthalic acid and 2-hydroxynaphthoic - 3 - anilide with 5 - aminobenzimidazolone are mixed in a roll mill at 140‹ to 180‹ C. to obtain a red dough used for injection moulding.
