Abstract

1,181,505. Coated paper. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. 16 Oct., 1967 [21 Nov., 1966], No. 52020/66. Heading B2E. [Also in Division C3] Paper is coated with an aqueous coating composition comprising a mineral pigment and a film forming material is binder which is a four-component copolymer of from 30- 55% butadiene, 10-20% of an ethylenically unsaturated mono- or dicarboxylic acid, 10- 60% methyl methacrylate, and the remainder styrene, there being 5-50 parts of film-forming material per 100 parts of pigment, all parts and % being by weight. The carboxylic acid is preferably acrylic acid and the pigment china clay. The composition may also contain other ingredients such as casein, starch, sodium alginate and sodium hexa metaphosphate.
