Abstract
1,180,608. Photo-electric scanning systems. A. A. CAVRILKIN and Y.A. RAIKHMAN. May 4, 1967, No. 20805/67. Heading G1A. In a photo-electric microscope which determines the alignment of itself with one or more reference lines, a photo-cell by scanning an image of a reference line and a superimposed image of a slit defining an optical axis corresponding to that reference line generates pulses as it scans the slit and line whose relative phase indicates the amount and direction of misalignment. In Figs. 2 and 3 three reference lines 13, 14, 15 are drawn upon a surface 12 illuminated from beneath by source 10. Two reference lines 14, 15 are on line with one another and the third 13 is positioned between and perpendicular to them. Their images 14<SP>1</SP>, 13<SP>1</SP>, 15<SP>1</SP>, Fig. 10 are projected on to corresponding openings 16, 17, 18 of a diaphram 22, each opening having a cut-out slit 19, 20, 21, defining the corresponding optical axis. Prisms 23 turn the images of the reference lines and diaphram openings so that they may be scanned in their particular directions C and B across respective photo-cells 27, 28, 29 by a single vibrating mirror 5 as shown or a rotating drum mirror. An output pulse from a photo-cell is produced each time a reference line or diaphram slit is scanned across the corresponding photo-cell slit 30, 31, 32 and for each photo-cell in turn the relative phase of the reference line pulse and diaphram slit pulse is determined to indicate the amount and direction of misalignment of the reference lines from their corresponding optical axis.
