Abstract

1,180,363. Polymerizing vinyl chloride. DYNAMIT NOBEL A.G. 21 June, 1968 [22 June, 1967], No. 29867/68. Addition to 1,021,996. Heading C3P. Vinyl chloride is polymerized or copolymerized, e.g. with vinyl acetate, in 8-20% by weight of a C 1 -C 6 alcohol at - 8‹ to - 50‹ C. with a redox system comprising ascorbic acid, a heavy metal salt, e.g. ferric sulphate, hydrogen peroxide and cyclohexane sulphonyl acetyl peroxide. A shearing action is preferably applied. Syndiotactic polymers are formed.
