Abstract

1,180,224. Transistor circuit. K.D.G. INSTRUMENTS Ltd. 4 April, 1967 [4 April, 1966], No. 14819/66. Heading H3T. [Also in Division G1] A.C. signals from the split secondary 84, 85, Fig. 5, of a differential transformer 82, 89, 85 are applied to the bases of complementary transistors 95, 96, the signal at the junction of emitter resistors 105, 106, representing the sum of the signals, and that on the collector of 95 representing the difference. The sum signal is amplified in a compound pair of transistors 108, 109, and the output taken from the collector of 108. The collector load of transistor 108 includes a thermistor 114 for compensation of the sum signal for temperature variations of the transformer. Temperature compensation of the difference signal is obtained by feeding back a voltage from the junction of resistors 118, 119, representing that part of the collector 108 variation arising from the thermistor 114 compensation, amplifying the feedback voltage in a long-tailed pair 122, 124, and adding the output thereof to the difference signal on the collector of transistor 95.
