Abstract

[Also in Division H4] In a transmission system continuously variable items of analogue information are transmitted by means of a cycle of signals. The cycle contains as many time slots as there are items and each time slot contains a signal of unique frequency whose duration is determined by the item. The intervals between successive unique frequencies are filled by a pilot frequency. At the receiver the unique frequency corresponding to a particular item of information is selected for control purposes, and the pilot is selected for use in a monitoring system.
