Abstract

1,179,200. Ethylene-carboxylic acid copolymers. GULF RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT CO. 11 Dec., 1968 [28 Dec., 1967], No. 59001/68. Heading C3P. Ethylene-carboxylic acid copolymers are prepared by heating a copolymer of ethylene with an isopropyl ester of acrylic or methacrylic acid to the ester decomposition temperature in the presence of water vapour or ammonia. The decomposition may be effected in a melt extruder, and the products used in coating and the manufacture of safety glass laminates.
