Abstract
1,179,109. Dibenzothiazepine derivatives. SCIENCE UNION ET CIE, SOC. FRANCAISE DE RECHERCHE MEDICALE. 15 Dec., 1967 [19 Dec., 1966], No. 13482/69. Divided out of 1,179,108. Heading C2C. Novel compounds (I) in which A and B each represents independently H, halo, C 1-5 alkyl or C 1-5 alkoxy and R is C 1-5 alkyl, are prepared by reacting the corresponding 5-OH compound with hydrogen chloride. Intermediates isolated are compounds of Formula I V prepared by reacting an appropriate o-carbomethoxy-benzene sulphochloride with an appropriate N-monoalkyl-aniline; the acids corresponding to the esters IV, prepared by hydrolysis of the esters IV; the acid chlorides corresponding to esters IV, prepared by reaction of the acid with a chlorinating agent; compounds of Formula V, prepared by cyclizing the acid chloride; and the 5-hydroxy derivatives prepared by reduction of the compounds V.
