Abstract
1,178,121. Burglar alarms. MINISTER OF TECHNOLOGY. 18 March, 1968 [20 March, 1967 ; 4 Dec., 1967], Nos. 12956/67 and 55042/67. Heading G4N. [Also in Division G1] A load-sensitive capacitor, particularly for use in measuring non-uniformly applied loads, comprises at least two conductive elements separated by a layer of compressible insulating material, e.g. cellular rubber, each element being formed of a length of flexible conducting material, e.g. beryllium-copper ribbon, arranged in a serpentine path extending alternately longitudinally and transversely of the element, see the Figure of Provisional Specification 55042/67. The capacitor may be located under a carpet, rug &C and used as a burglar alarm by controlling the frequency of an oscillator.
