Abstract

1,177,664. Accounting machines. KIENZLE APPARATE G.m.b.H. 10 July, 1967 [15 July, 1966], No. 31659/67. Heading G4A. An electronic stored programme accounting machine is connected by plug-and-socket connection to a magnetic tape unit for input and output of data and/or instructions. The tape may be in the form of an endless loop stored in a coil in a removable cassette and may include voice signals for reminding operators of functions to be performed. As shown, a magnetic tape unit 10 is connected by a line 11 to an accounting machine comprising a keyboard 1 with ten digit keys 2 and a plurality of function keys 3, a buffer 4, magnetic core matrix store 5, microprogramme unit 9, arithmetic unit 8, printer unit 7 and means 6 for writing on and reading from magnetic stripes on account cards (not shown). Two special function keys 3a and 4a are provided for respectively causing the data from the store 5 to be written onto the tape in unit 10 and for the opposite transfer of information to take place, the keys of the keyboard being locked during these operations.
