Abstract

1,177,258. Chimneys. F. E. BEAUMONT Ltd. 2 Oct., 1968 [3 Oct., 1967], No. 44904/67. Heading F4J. A chimney includes a protective outer sheath formed of one or more inter-engaging sections of glass fibre reinforced plastics material. As shown, the chimney is thermally insulated with an insulation 25 of mineral wool mattress reinforced with wire-netting, with an outer sheath 30. The chimney is clad with a plurality of annular sheath sections, except for two half shells 32a and. 32b which are fashioned to accommodate a projecting inlet flue 21. The constituent resin in the glass fibre reinforced plastics material may be pigmented to any desired colour.
