[Also in Division C2] An apparatus for use in the production of cyclohexanone, cyclohexanol and adipic acid comprises a reaction vessel 25 of the vertical cylindrical bubbler-type having coils 56 disposed therein, in groups at different levels in the reaction vessel unions 58, 59, 60 for feeding in reactants and unions 61, 62 for discharging reaction products, union 60 for feeding water being arranged to introduce water into the vessel below the reaction zone and the coils 56 being of such diameters and being disposed in the reaction vessel in such a manner that the distance between any point within the reaction vessel and the nearest coil does not exceed the radius of this coil so, that heat can be removed uniformly from the reaction zone, and/or the coils of different groups being provided with independently operable pressure regulators 57.
