Abstract
1,177,090. Waveguide joints. CONTROL DATA CORP. 29 Dec., 1966 [7 Feb., 1966], No. 58202/66. Heading H1W. Wave-transmission to a cryogenic device 10 enclosed, e.g. in a Dewar vessel 12 is effected across a thermally-insulating gap 18 between the flanges 22, 28 of waveguides 16, 20. To prevent escape of energy, flange 22 is provided with a choke slot 24 and (preferably) a ring of absorptive material 34. Vacuum seal 32 may be arranged across flange 30 or flange 22.
