Apparatus for filling a tanker 10 by any of a number of supply pipes 16 when its manhole is positioned under the lower end 15 of a guide funnel 13 has the lower end 15 shaped to allow the passage of only a single pipe so that as the desired flexible pipe is lowered it is guided to the correct position. The funnel may also be lowered by a rack and pinion into the manhole 11. In a modification, the guide funnel is replaced by guide rollers and/or plates.
