Abstract
1,176,513. Fluid-pressure servomotor systems. E. C. McRAE. March 23, 1967 [March 25, 1966], No. 13686/67. Heading G3P. [Also in Division A1] In a hydraulic control circuit, pressure fluid is supplied through conduit 20 past control valve 12 to a servovalve 18 which moves to control the flow of fluid to the sump via conduit 22 and is arranged to enable small movements of the control valve to operate the control circuit. Movement of the control valve 12 to the left in the Figure opens conduit 27 to the supply conduit 20 so that the ram is supplied with pressure fluid through valve 28; closes conduit 29 to sump and also opens conduit 34 to sump via passageway 38 whereby pressure fluid acting on piston 19 of servovalve 18 moves this valve to close the sump conduit. Gradual return of the valve 12 opens conduit 34 to supply pressure through conduit 39 and at a certain pressure defined by the frictional resistance of the ring 21 on the piston 19, the servovalve 18 begins to open the exhaust conduit 22. The supply to conduit 27 is throttled at 24 and the conduit 29 to sump is opened at 25. Thus modulating valve 31 opens the sump conduit 22 an amount depending on the pressure remaining in conduit 27 which is in turn determined by the resistance to movement of the servovalve. In an embodiment the modulating valve 31 is dispersed with. The circuit can be used in a tractor power lift mechanism having draft control.
