Abstract

Ticket printing and issuing apparatus comprises drive means for moving a film having thereon images corresponding to tickets for different destinations; means for selecting a desired destination including a first group of switch keys, each denoting a respective transport route, and a second group of switch keys, each key denoting several destinations of which each is on a different route; circuitry for operating the drive means to bring to a printing station an image corresponding to the destination selected by actuation of a key of each group; means for supplying ticket material to the printing station; means for printing on to the material at the station the selected image; and means for dispensing the printed ticket. After selecting a route a passenger presses the key SB1-SBn of the second group corresponding to his destination. The signal produced causes (a) the number of the image corresponding to the selected destination to be set up in matrix MA2, (b) the price of the ticket to be set up in matrix MA1, and (c) the price of the ticket to be indicated on an indicator RA. The passenger places his money in the apparatus and it is counted by counter C1. If the amount is greater than or equal to the required price matrix MA1 will cause a control signal A to be transmitted to a switch K to effect film advance by motor M1. A photo-electric device 5, 6 and counter C2 count the images and transmit data to the matrix MA2 and upon coincidence between the transmitted data and set up number, i.e. when the required image is at the printing station, the matrix MA2 switches flip-flop FR to its zero state. A pulse from the flip-flop actuates an inhibit circuit IN to terminate the signal A and stop film advance, and also actuates via timers T1, T2 a shutter 9 which enables an image to be projected on to printing paper P and a cutter 14-16 respectively. As the paper is cut a switch 20 is closed causing reversal of the film drive, actuation of a motor M2 to feed a predetermined length of paper to the printing station, and resetting of the flip-flop to its " 1 " state. Upon return of the film to an initial position the drive motor is de-energized by means not shown. A control console (Fig. 1, not shown) has three keys (LB-a, LB-b, LB-c) corresponding to three routes, and lamps (L-a, L-b L-c) for indicating the selected route and other lamps for indicating the selected destination. The images may be arranged on a drum. The matrix MA1 may include change giving apparatus.
