Abstract

1,175,643. Drilling. WATSON MFG. CO. 22 Feb., 1968 [1 March, 1967], No. 8686/68. Heading E1F. A drilling mast is pivotally mounted on a shaft 61 which drives the rotary table 15 and which is supported by a sleeve rotatably mounted about a shaft 43 which drives shaft 61 through bevel gears. The mast is raised or lowered about shaft 61 or rotated about shaft 43 by hydraulic cylinders (75), 77. The shafts 43, 61 and motor 17 therefore are mounted on a carriage 23 reciprocated by hydraulic cylinder 25 along base 21 on a turntable 27.
