Abstract

An electronic image intensifier tube employing a channel intensifier is characterized in that the output is red light so that the device is suitable for use at night without destroying the light adaptation of the user. The tube may employ a red phosphor, e.g. of the zinc-phosphate manganese activated type, or may have a red filter in front of it. The photo-cathode may be of the multi-alkali type.
