1,172,538. Testing sand mixes. BRITISH CAST IRON RESEARCH ASSOCIATION. Dec. 29, 1967 [Oct. 12, 1966], No.45511/66. Heading G1S. The brittleness of foundry sand mixes is tested by an izod pendulum, the pendulum head 3 striking the sand sample 8 with a velocity sufficient to cause a brittle fracture, preferably at least 350 cm/second.
