Abstract

1,171,623. Edge connectors for printed circuit boards. BELLING & LEE Ltd. 5 May, 1967 [6 May, 1966], No. 20250/66. Heading H2E. In an edge connector with contact-housing recesses 12, 13 which communicate with a central panel-receiving channel 11 through narrow slots (16, Fig. 2, not shown), each contact includes two limbs 2, 4, the inner limb 4 having a part 6 projecting into the central channel 11 through a slot (16) and having shoulders 5 which engage shoulders 15 in a recess 12 or 13. The contacts each comprise either one pair of limbs 2, 4, or, as shown, two opposed pairs of limbs 2, 4 joined by a strip 7. They are formed from blanks (Fig. 3, not shown) by folding the limbs 2, 4 at right-angles to the strips 7 and to end portions 3, 3a. Springy shoulders 2] on solder tags 1 retain the contacts.
