Abstract

1,170,636. Refrigerating; tubular heat exchangers. INDUSTRIE A. ZANUSSI S.p.A. 3 May, 1967 [10 May, 1966], No. 20658/67. Headings F4H and F4S. The refrigerant passageway of an evaporator is entirely contained within a body of plastics material. As shown, a convoluted metal conduit 2 is embedded in a sheet 1 of plastics material which may be formed by injection moulding or by juxtaposing two preformed sheets (Fig. 6, not shown). The thermal conductivity of the evaporator may be increased by incorporating a metal gauge, metal wires or metal particles within sheets 1. Conduit 2 may be omitted and the refrigerant passed through a passage formed directly in the body of plastics material.
