Abstract

1,170,397. Omega-aminoalkane nitriles. TOYO RAYON K.K. 29 Jan., 1968, No. 4521/68. Heading C2C. #-Aminoalkane nitriles are obtained by contacting the corresponding #-lactams with an excess of NH 3 in the vapour phase at a preferred temperature of 270-450‹ C., in the presence of a dehydrating catalyst which is obtained by calcining at 300-550‹ C. a metal salt of a phosphoric acid; the metal being Mg, Ca, Ba, Zn, Cd or Al. In the examples a new compound lambda-aminolauro nitrite has been prepared by reacting lambda laurolactam with NH 3 using Ca 3 (PO 4 ) 2 as the dehydrating catalyst.
