Abstract

1,170,124. Knitting-machines. EDOUARD DUBIED ET CIE (S.A.). 24 Feb., 1967 [11 March, 1966], No. 8966/67. Heading D1C. A pattern mechanism for a circular machine comprises a series of pattern devices and at least two perforated pattern bands each controlling a group of the devices. In one embodiment the bond comprises a separate track for each device controlled so that patterns of unlimited extent can be produced. The preferred pattern device comprises a wheel having a slotted drum 47 carrying pattern jacks 33. Jacks in each wheel have butts 39 at different levels to engage the tracks of the bands 26. Four cams 49 are vertically movable in the wheel by tracks 68a, b, and are lowered by tracks b to engage selected jacks and then raised so as to press the needle jacks 36. In another embodiment, groups of perforations for each device are arranged one after another in a single track. The jacks all carry butts 45 at one level. Once the desired pattern has been set up in each wheel the cams 49 are kept in the top track 68a by a pivoted gate, closing entrance to the bottom track. The set pattern is thereby repeated.
