1,169,404. Electrical therapeutic apparatus. MATSUSHITA DENKO K.K. 2 May, 1967 [24 May, 1966], No. 20276/67. Heading A5R. Electrical therapeutic apparatus comprises an electrically conductive member 2 arranged on an insulator 1, an earthed generator 5 of negative electricity, and means for passing the negative electricity from the generator to said member so that when a human body 4 is brought into direct contact with said member, the body may be negatively charged. As shown, the generator 5 includes a transformer T and a rectifying and smoothing circuit D, R 1 , C 1 , C 2 and provides (with a reversing switch SW 1 in the correct position) a negative steady potential to the electrode member 2. The apparatus also includes an electrically driven brush used to stimulate the body. In alternative embodiments the generator may include a circuit (Figures 3, 4, not shown) which provides negative potential on which is superimposed half cycles of alternating current, or (Figures 5, 6 not shown) may include a circuit having switches (S 1 , S 2 , S 3 ) operated via a cam (E) from a motor (M) to interrupt the therapeutic current.
