Abstract

1,169,289. Recoil pad for a gun stock. F. A. PACHMAYR. 25 Oct., 1967, No. 48615/67. Heading F3C. An elongated recoil pad has a rubber body 10 and an inner face 15 adapted to be applied to the end of a gun stock. Recesses 20 are formed in an elongated central area of the face 15 and within the rubber body 10 and side recesses 25, 26 overlying but separated from the recesses 20 are also provided in the rubber body 10. In the construction shown the pad is of laminated construction having a relatively stiff layer of rubber 13 providing the inner face 15 and an intermediate layer 14 of rubber or similar material harder than the rubber body. A metallic reinforcement plate 18 having screw receiving apertures is also provided. The recesses 20 are formed by transverse ribs or webs 21 and a central continuous web (22, Figs. 2, 3, not shown) and the recesses 25, 26 projecting inwardly from each side of the pad are separated by a web moulded in alignment with the central continuous web (Fig. 3, not shown).
