Abstract

Needles 4 of a pinned bar are embedded in a plastics material 6 filling the longitudinal slot 3 of a channel sectioned metal bar 1, profiled metal end pieces 8 fitting into the ends of the bar without closing off the slot ends and the plastics material enveloping at least part of the end pieces to integrate the end pieces with the bar. The end pieces have upper and lower flanges 12, 13 which are a friction fit in the bar. The plastics material is so moulded on the end pieces as to form heels 9, 10 and projectin gribs 15, the end pieces 7, 8 being correspondingly formed with tongues 14 to reinforce such ribs.
