Abstract

'[Also in Division F4] In a filter press, each plate 10 comprises a hanger element 14 pivoted at 18 and having a slot 20 which slides on a pin 19 secured to the plate and lobes 17 which engage an upper support bar 15, and a lower recess with lobes which contact a lower support bar, the plate being removable by raising it from the lower bar when the element 14 drops to the position shown in broken lines, the plate then being withdrawn from between the bars transverse to its length. The procedure is reversed to insert the plate. The lower recess in the plate may be formed with a projection (21, Fig. 4) to assist in locating the plate on the lower bar. The central portion of each plate may be corrugated. The plate supporting structure includes clamps and end plates.
