Abstract

1,168,201. Injection syringe. ELASTMETALL-DAMME OLDENBURG G.m.b.H. 5 Feb., 1968 [5 Dec., 1967], No. 5658/68. Heading ASR. An injection syringe of the type composed of a syringe barrel of plastics material open at one end and a plunger guided therein in sealed relationship with the barrel by means of a piston ring of elastic material, is characterised in that the groove 11 in the piston 2 in which the sealing ring 10 is seated is wider than the crosssectional diameter of the ring and has a base surface 11 which slopes outwardly from top to bottom (the syringe being positioned so that the needle is at the bottom), this arrangement allowing for the slight conicity of the barrel inherent in the usual method of making it.
