Abstract

1,167,045. Kettle. P. DIGHTON. 28 June, 1968 [30 March, 1967], No. 14454/67. Heading A4A. An electric kettle comprises at least one bracket 6 to fix it to a vertical surface a body 1 pivotable on the bracket(s) about a horizontal axis, and a heating element for heating water contained in the body, such water being pourable by pivoting the body on the bracket(s). The kettle is tipped forward by means of either handle 17 so that water may be poured out through the spout 13. The spout is covered by a lid 14, which can be retained by a spring in the open or closed position (Fig. 6, not shown), and which may contain a whistle. The filling-aperture 18 is recessed, and covered by a lid provided with an opening, so that any overflow of water can drain back into the kettle.
