Abstract

1,166,942. Pressure suits. FRANKENSTEIN GROUP Ltd. 3 Jan., 1968 [21 Feb., 1697], No. 8084/67. Addition to 1,091,005. Heading A3V. The suit, of the parent Specification includes instead of or in addition to the Anti-G bladder system an air ventilated system comprising a manifold, connected to a low pressure air supply independent of the supply to the partial-pressure system and mounted on the innerside of the partial-pressure system, and distribution tubes leading from the manifold, there being a permeable layer between the tubes and the wearer. As shown, Fig. 1 bladders D & E. of the partial-pressure system extend over the whole suit apart from the seat and knee regions and the inner sides of the sleeves and an additional bladder I overlies a closable fly opening J as in the parent Specification. On the inner side of the partial-pressure bladder system is mounted a manifold O with tubes P 1 -P 9 leading therefrom to distribute ventilating air from a low pressure supply T. The tubes are perforated at (R) adjacent their ends Fig. 4 (not shown) which are fitted with reducing nozzles O. Between the ventilating system and the inner fabric layer (F) of the suit (Fig. 3, not shown) is a perforated or otherwise permeable layer (U) of fabric united at its edges to the inner layer F). At least one of the tubes e.g. P 1 may pass through an opening in the inner layer (F), to supply air to the wearer's neck region and helmet. On the outer side of the partial pressure system there may be an anti-G bladder system comprising a bladder L covering the abdomen and the outer side of the leg portion of the bladders D, E and inflated through a hose N.
