A cheese mould for the moulding of cheese without the use of cheese cloths comprises a single side wall composed of at least two juxtaposed and rigidly connected plates with low spacers between them, at least that plate which contacts the cheese being perforated with small holes, the side wall being either unopenable, or, if it is openable, being provided with a device on the side wall to hold the mould closed. The mould may be provided with a bottom or a lid.
