Abstract

116,571. Burleigh, J. W. June 29, 1917. Casings; dynamos and motors, cooling.-The end bearing brackets are formed with double flanges 1, 2 connected together by webs 3 integral with the flanges. The brackets are attached to the yoke 4 by bolts 5. The machine may be used with an external radiator longitudinally arranged by covering the spaces 6 between the flanges 1, 2 with adjustable casings provided with openings communicating with the radiator, the air being circulated by a fan at the pulley end of the armature. Instead of the longitudinal radiator, vertical radiators at either or both ends of the machine may be provided. The machine may be converted into a semi-closed machine by covering the spaces 6 with perforated sheet metal.
