[Also .in Division Cl] In a process of loading zeolitic molecular sieves with heavy metals; the sieve containing ions corresponding to the heavy metal is reduced in a liquid medium at a pH above 6 in the presence of at least one equivalent of non reducible metal ions per equivalent of heavy metal ions. In examples sieves loaded with Ag, Pt, Ni and Cu are reduced with hydroxylamine, hydrazine, metallic sodium in ammonia, NaH 2 PO 2 , and hydrogen gas under pressure. "Heavy metal" is defined as having a specific weight of more. than 5.
