Abstract

1,165,635. Removing grease from air. K. S. RUSSELL. 11 July, 1967 [8 Oct., 1966], No. 31909/67. Heading B1T. [Also in Division F4] A filter cartridge 48 removably mounted in a ventilation duct 29 above a cooking stove includes a T-shaped baffle or, as shown, overlapping zig-zag baffles 73 which cause the deposit of grease in the air flow, within the cartridge from which it drains to a trough 41. The cartridge is held by pivotal spring clips 69 and a bracket 68 or alternatively seats on protrusions on the duct walls. A water spray pipe 80 in the duct 29 may be actuated manually or by a time switch to wash grease from the cartridge 48. Another removable cartridge may be provided in the duct 29, resting on top of duct section 25 (Fig. 9, not shown).
