Abstract
1,164,871. Track propulsion systems. IPRO, INDUSTRIAL & TECHNICAL PRODUCTS. 3 Jan., 1967 [5 Jan., 1966], No. 404/67. Heading B7L. Separate shelving elements 11 to 16, Figs. 1 and 2, which are provided with rollers 17 movable on track rails 18 and which form a row, are movable by a driving member in order to form a space between any two elements, e.g. 14 and 15, as shown, the driving member comprising a rail 19 which extends alongside one track rail 18 throughout the length of the row and is constantly driven backwards and forwards, the travel of the rail 19 being equal to the length of the space to be formed between two elements, each element being selectively latchingly coupled to the driving rail 19. Each element has a coupling bolt 23 operable by a handle 22 to move downwardly towards the rail 19 under the urge of a spring when the handle is moved to the position shown in dotted lines in Fig. 1. A coupling hole is provided in the rail 19 for each element 11 to 16, the holes 31 to 37 being offset in two rows. When the rail 19 is moved from the extreme left hand position shown in Fig. 2, to the extreme right, the holes assume the position 31<SP>1</SP>, 32<SP>1</SP> &c. If it is desired to form a gap between the elements 12, 13, the handle of the element 13 is operated and the bolt is urged downwardly by its spring into the hole 33 and the bolt and the elements 13, 14 are moved to the right until the hole 33 is displaced to the position 33<SP>1</SP> and the element 14 abuts the element 15, whereafter the bolt on the element 13 is uncoupled from the rail 19. Similarly, to form a gap between the elements 15, 16 the handle 22 of the element 15 is turned and its bolt engages, slidingly, the rail 19 until the hole 35 moves to the position 35<SP>1</SP>, whereafter the bolt is latched to the rail 19 and the element 15 moved to the left to abut the element 14 and is then uncoupled from the rail 19. The rail 19 is connected by elements 47, 48 to the ends of a piston-rod 46 extending through a double-acting hydraulic cylinder 43 supplied with pressure liquid via an electromagnetic reversing valve 49 from an electrically driven pump (not shown). The valve works in dependence on an electric limit switch 50 actuatable by cams 52, 53 on a push-bar 51, movable by driver elements 54, 55 driven by the elements 47, 48. The piston is accelerated and braked through the agency of an adjustable control valve 64 in the hydraulic supply pipe.
