1,164,467. Cleaning boiler tubes. ZAKLADY ENERGETYCZNE OKREGU POLUDNIOWEGO ZAKLAD REMONTOWY ENERGETYKI. 10 Oct., 1966 [8 Oct., 1965], No. 45219/66. Heading F2N. A device for removing scale from the heating surfaces of tubes in a boiler includes a travelling winch or jenny provided with wheels comprising electromagnets which allow the jenny to travel upon the water tubes unaffected by their angle of inclination in the boiler. An electric motor on the jenny drives both a drum provided with articulated hammers 13 and a winch drum formed with a double conical surface. The surfaces are engaged by respective weighted ropes 5, 7 depending from a swinging beam 20 suspended below the boiler crown sheet. The speed and direction of travel of the jenny are controlled by loosening the ropes 5 or 7 by the control rods 17, 18.
