A printing ink composition consists of: 9-15 wt. per cent of cyclized rubber; 1-5 wt. per cent of an epoxy or alkyd resin composition; 20-30 wt. per cent of pigment; 50-70 wt. per cent of solvents; and 0.1-20 wt. per cent of the solids of the comcomposition of a cationic surfactant of formula wherein R 1 is a C 8-22 hydrocarbon radical, R 2 and R 3 are each (C 2 H 4 O) p H, (C 3 H 6 O) p H or (C 2 H 4 O) q (C 3 H 6 O) r H wherein p is an integer of 1 to 50 and the sum of q and r is 2 to 50. R 4 is hydrogen, methyl, ethyl or benzyl; where n is 2 or 3, m is 0, 1 or 2, X is halogen, CU 3 SO 4 -, C 2 H 5 50 4 -, C 3 H 7 SO 4 - or R 5 COO-, wherein R 5 is a C 1-22 hydrocarbon radical, and k is m + 1.
