1,164,235. Herbicides containing diphenylacetamides together with nitrophenols. UPJOHN CO. 9 Aug., 1967 ,[8 Sept., 1966], No. 36532/67. Heading A5E. A herbicidal composition comprises an N, N-disubstituted-α, α-diphenyl-acetamide of formula:- wherein 'R 1 and R 2 are C 1 to C 3 alkyl or C 3 or C 4 alkenyl, together with 4, 6-dinitro-o-secbutyl phenol dissolved in a C 1 to C 3 chlorinated hydrocarbon solvent, e.g. chloroform or methylene dichloride. The compositions preferably are applied as emulsions in water containing surfactant. Optional ingredients are humectants, anti-foaming agents and corrosion inhibitors.
