Abstract

Haymaking; hay-cocking machines.-A haycocking machine comprises a frame 1 supporting an elevator 4 provided with spring steel tines which carry the hay to a hopper 5 positioned over the pivoted hay receptacle 6 shown in Fig. 3. The receptacle 6, which is pivoted at 9, is provided with counterbalance weights 10 so that, when empty, it moves into the position shown in Fig. 1, in which position it is held by a latch 8. When sufficiently loaded, the driver trips the latch 8 and the receptacle tilts and discharges its load through its open rear portion. Small prongs 11 close 'the bottom of the hopper and prevent any hay falling clear of the receptacle during the discharge. The bottom ribs of the receptacle 6 are removable so that the machine may be used for tedding or windrowing.
